Ivan laughed and let him go. "I win." He got up and went back over to sit on the couch with Casie. He checked his phone and Manny had texted him back. "Dinner in one hour kids." He cleared his message and put his phone away.

They all sat there talking and laughing while they waited.

"Mr. Ivan do you think we can have some soda with dinner?"

That was Nat's small little voice speaking up to be heard

"We don't get it often but it has been about a month."

She looked at Cas.

"Please mommy."

Cas smiled.

"If it is not to late to get it up here with dinner sure."

Ivan chuckled as he pulled out his phone. A few short keystrokes and the text was sent. "Soda with dinner, taken care of." He put his phone away knowing that Manny wouldn't text him back for something like that.

Nat's eyes lit up, soda was a treat. Her mommy didn't let her have it often.

"Thank you Mr. Ivan."

She was happy and sat back listening to the rest of the conversation.

After a while dinner was delivered. Manny arrived at the door pushing a cart with plates on it and several types of Pizza. There were also cold cans of soda. He let everyone fix a plate for themselves before he moved on. He would come back bye on a second round with the rest of the Pizza later. Ivan waited for Cas and the kids before he got his plate. Three slices of cheese and a can of Sprite.

DJ made a plate with three slices of peperoni and got a can of root beer.

Nat took a single piece of sausage and a can of root beer.

Cas got two slices with peperoni and olives and a can of diet Dr Pepper.

"Thank you Uncle Manny."

Both twins thanked him.

"Thanks Manny."

Cas smiled at him.

Manny chuckled and gave the kids a hug. "No problem guys. I'll be back later to see if anyone needs seconds." He headed out to deliver dinner to everyone else. He didn't even react to Ivan still being in Casie's room.

Ivan closed the door behind Manny and then sat down to dinner with Cas and her kids. After all, everyone loved to hang out with the kids.

Dinner passed uneventfully and they all enjoyed the evening together.The twins kept telling jokes, that were cute for ten year olds.

When is a car not a car? When it turns into a garage.

"How much do pirates pay for earnings? A buccaneer."

"Why did the boy blush when he opened the fridge? He saw the salad dressing."

"Why did the atom cross the road? It was time to split."

Cas was laughing hard and having fun just being there with the twins, and Ivan.

Manny returned and gave them more pizza, no more soda Cas wouldn't let them have a second can. They finished and then Cas got them ready for bed. She shut the door to the area she had separated into room for the twins and smiled at Ivan.

She sat back down on the couch again and stretched out her neck.

"How about that drink?"

Ivan thought the jokes were funny. It was fun hanging out with them for the evening. But it was time for the kids to go to bed. When Cas came back and asked about the drink, he grinned. "Certainly." He stood up from the couch and offered her a hand. "Let's go see if they have any Ovaltine for your old butt." He laughed as he made a dramatic gesture of pulling her up off the couch.

Before they headed down to the bar, Ivan went over and knocked on the door to his room. two punctuated knocks. *Knock.* *Knock.* They were all about codes and that code meant that two kids were in bed without an adult in the room. So the others would know to check in on them after a while. Then they headed to the bar. When they got down there they found a pair of seats.

Cas took Ivan's hand and let him pull her up off the couch.

"No I'll have a beer the olvaltine is for your old butt."

She looked at Kjay.

"Stay here with the twins boy, Ivan will keep me safe while we are down in the bar."

Kjay looked at Ivan and then back at his human. Then back at Ivan.

~You had better keep her safe.~

To Ivan it came out as a couple barks and a growl. He went and laid down on the floor in front of the door to the twins area.

She let Ivan lead her out and shut the door behind her. He knocked twice on the door to the employee's room and then they headed down to the bar.

While they were at the bar they had a couple of beers each and shared some small talk. It was nice to just sit and chat like a pair of old friends. After all, that was what they were. After a while he walked her back up to her room.

She enjoyed the time in the bar and was in good spirits. When he walked her back to her door she smiled at him.

"Do you want to stay a while longer? We can have coffee, or wine."

She was opening the door.

Now this was something new, usually this would be time for him to return to his room. "Um, coffee sounds good, let me decode the door." He walked over and gave two quick knocks to the door to signal that the kids had adult supervision again. Then he joined her in her room for coffee.

She smiled as he went and knocked on his door again and then went to the kitchen and started brewing a pot of coffee.

"How do you take your coffee?"

He watched her as she went to go make the coffee. "Black is fine sweety." He figured she was just not ready to go to sleep yet and wanted some company. Little did he know.

Cas waited for the coffee to finish but a bit of cream and sweetner in her own and then brought both cups to the livingroom. She held Ivan's out to him before she sat down next to him on the couch and took a drink from her cup.

She kicked her shoes off and pulled her legs up onto the couch and tucked them up behind her.

"How have you been filling your days?"

He watched her get comfortable after he took his coffee. "Well, work mostly. Manny keeps up kind of busy." He chuckled.

Ivan chuckled. "Nope, still missing a rib." He didn't need to ask if she had a boyfriend, that topic had been covered. "Are you happy that school is almost out?" Talk about small talk. she was up to something.

She smiled and nodded.

"Yes it will reverse the time I spend between Claremount and the Inn. Weekends here and then the week at Claremount."

She streched and tried to get her neck to pop.

He cracked his knuckles. "Come here." He began to tub her neck for her to loosen the muscles so that the joints would pop for her.

She turned her back to him and leaned into him so he could rub her neck and shoulders.

"Mmmm, that feels great."

She knew that it was going to be now or never.

"Will you stay with me tonight Ivan, I don't want to be alone right now."

See, he knew she was up to something. "Sure, does the couch fold out?" He would never refuse her request. After all, she just wanted some company, right?

"Yes Ivan it folds out, but it is lumpy and uncomfortable, I meant I didn't want to sleep alone tonight."

She fought to keep from blushing and actually did a decent job. She may have been a tiny bit flushed but she wasn't red.

Ivan didn't do as good trying to hide his blushing. "Oh, um, ok. Well, I guess I can sleep in your bed. You wont bite me will you?" There you go, crack a joke to lighten the mood.
