Venis was right behind Seleen as they came out the door. She saw Maureen and couldn't help but lick her fangs. Oh man she was mad. Her blood was boiling. Poor girl, she thought he was cheating on her and it was all just a set up to get them out into the alley. She was sure that they would probably look over at her and Seleen.

So given that they were probably going to get seen anyway, she walked over to Maureen. She spoke to her mind before she even got close enough to touch. ~Maybe he's cheating, maybe he was just trying for the sake of the kids. Or maybe he was looking for a little adventure. Don't take your eyes off of him. In fact, back away from him and let him away from the wall so he can try to explain. But watch him, watch him very closely.~

If she backed off of Michael enough, Seleen would be able to get behind him. That was the goal. In the mean time, Venis walked over behind Maureen and she ran her hand up her arm. She leaned over and began to whisper in her ear. "So now you can hear his side of the story. Ask him, don't take your eyes off of him. Ask him if he is having an affair. Look deep into his eyes, they are the windows to the soul. His eyes will tell you if he is lying." God's she smelt even better up close.

Stand up for himself. His temper flared. What Maureen had done was crossing a line with Michael even without Seleen needing to egg him on. He didn't like being touched. He liked being forcibly touched even less. It awoke a part of him he always tried to ignore ever since the one day his temper made him regret. His mind and his voice said the same thing: "Don't. F#cking. Touch me." His voice was dead. His eyes were rage. Couldn't leave me alone could you? Then he did what he swore he'd never do.

He didn't hit her. But he pushed her. Hard. Right into the Amazon that had come up behind her. That's when Michael noticed Venis was there. He stepped forward towards his wife. Sneering Venis. "What do you want?" He saw the second woman. The one who'd been staring at him and dancing near him on the dance floor. "Go back to your grinding. This isn't any of your business." Snapped at them. Sallow eyes switching between the two barely dressed women before glaring at his wife.

His wife. Maureen wanted more than anything to demand he tell her whether or not he'd had an affair but she was...scared, now. Michael had never done something like that to her before. She'd never heard that kind of tone from him before either. Like animal rage. Her mind was racing most of the thoughts a form of What do I do? What do I do? What do I do? Cry yell scream hit kick at least I'm not hurt no bad fall because - That's when she realized. She'd smacked into someone.

She turned around to look at Venis as Michael was barking at them. "Excuse me." She meant it to sound apologetic but it wasn't. Maureen felt bad about slamming into the woman but at the same time what the hell was the woman doing here in the first place? "Sorry. This is private." She tried to sound as polite as she could. She didn't manage a smile though or anything friendly like that. She just turned her backs on them. Wishing the same as Michael did. Nosy bitches go back to being whores somewhere else. This night is bad enough.

Now, Seleen was one of the fastest vampires in recorded history. So when Michael pushed Maureen it only took her a few seconds to move in behind him and grab his arm. She nearly ripped it from the socket as she wrenched the arm up behind him. "Didn't your momma ever tell you to never put your hands on a woman, son?" She could have removed the arm and beat him with it for what he had done. She was pissed.

Both hands went to Maureen's arms when she bumped into her. "No apologies necessary." She looked over at Michael. "Are you really such a Neanderthal that you would put your hands on a lady?" Ok, so the fireball was a little hot too, which was reflected in her rise in temperature. She started sending comforting thoughts to Maureen. ~It's ok to cry. He was being a bully. These women will make it all better.~ She looked at Michael again. "Bully."

She opened her arms to Maureen to comfort her. "Sel, show him what we do with jerks who put their hands on women." She waited for Maureen. ~It will all be ok, a hug would make it all better. But not a hug from a jerk like him. No, a hug from someone who would be comforting and warm.~ She looked over at Seleen and winked.

"God damn f - " that's as much of what Michael said that was appropriate to repeat to ears that don't belong to thieves or sailors. He was only human. So the pain was incredible. Not as bad as it could have been if his body wasn't already pumping with the adrenaline unleashed by his anger at his wife. But his pain didn't mean he was going to keep quiet or even keep still. She had him in a pin and she was strong and it was probably impossible that he'd get free but he was trying and he'd keep trying. The strong human will to survive Jerking his body in sudden lurches from side to side as he kicked his foot back to try and kick out Seleen's knee. He obviously didn't give a sh#t that she was a woman.

Watching what was happening to her husband did make Maureen cry. But it was not in the way Venis expected. Did either one of them think she'd be happy or still thinking about her own pain when she watched her husband attacked like this? She wasn't. Her mind told her that these woman would make it all better. But their actions were showing the opposite. What was going on? It created a paradox of emotions which made her panic. Fueling the blood-curdling kind of cry, one word at the top of her lungs. "Stooooooooop!!!" Even if the people in the bar didn't hear over the noise and music, if anyone else was outside...

The rest of what Venis said stuck with her, morphing in her head as it was affected by how Maureen had been raised. A hug. Someone comforting and warm. That's who could fix this. The embrace of comfort and warmth. The embracing power of the divine. The same powers she prayed to every night to beg that they send help to bring her old Michael back. The divine hadn't answered that call. But maybe it was a test. Maybe the point of this whole night was the divine showing her that she was supposed to see this Michael, the one she'd been so quick to dislike, was worth saving. And she saw the light. Oh she saw the light.

She would try to save her husband the way her faith of this land of Rhy'din taught her how. Maureen tossed her head back as her husband continued to swear and struggle, bellowing at the top of her lungs to try and shoot her need up to the heavens like a rocket of hope, "Venis Lady of Protection I call to thee, Defend your followers from evil by my plea!!!"

As her faith and family had taught her since she was a small child, who better to call in times of danger than the shining goddess of Protection.

Seleen was laughing as he kicked and cussed and tried to wiggle free. When he tried to take out her knee though, all bets were off. She kicked the back of his knees so he would drop down on his knees upon the ground. Then she covered his mouth and pushed his head back against her leg for leverage.

She still had his arm wrenched so when he dropped it would hurt worse. But once she covered his mouth she spoke. "Now, shut the f*ck up or I will rip your damned jaw off." She was serious too, she tightened her grip to drive her point home. She heard Maureen yell stop, so she looked up.

But what Maureen aid next was such a shock. When Maureen cried out to the very Goddess who was trying to eat her, Seleen's jaw dropped like it had come unhinged. Seleen told herself that she had to be hearing things, but then she looked at Venis. Nope, there was her confirmation. They way Venis was reacting spoke volumes.

When Maureen yelled stop, Venis took a step back from her, due to the sheer volume of the woman's shrieking. So when the woman yelled out her prayer to Venis, she covered her ears and her mouth fell open as she doubled over in pain. Because not only did she hear that yelling in her ears, she heard it in the same way she hears all prayers. In her head, only not as a quiet whisper as most prayers were. No, this flamer (What else could she call those who worshiped her?) had to yell out her prayer.

She looked as though she was ready to scream herself, but there was no sound being emitted. Well, none that they could hear at least. When Maureen's prayer was over Venis could stop her muted screaming. She chose to do her best to ignore the prayer. After all, the vampire was hungry. The vampire did not care who it's dinner worshiped. The vampire was in charge tonight. ~What if your beloved Goddess chooses to not answer your prayers?~ Said to Maureen's mind as Venis tried to right herself once again and stand erect.

Michael dropped to the ground, cussing behind the hand on his mouth as he knees hit the pavement hard. Those knees weren't so great as it was thanks to so many years climbing and kneeling on catwalks and ladders all his life, so it was another area flaring up in pain. He bent his torso forward as he tried to take the stress off his arm, at least he bent as much as he could - her hand over his face was keeping him from bending as deeply as he'd need to in order to really alleviate the throbbing tension.

He knew that right now he was on the losing end of this, especially with her threat. But she should know better - if he was a guy who pushed his wife when she tried to dominate him did this bitch really think he'd just sit there and let her jerk him around, especially with his wife screaming the way she was? With his head tilted back he could kind of see his assailant, so he saw when her jaw dropped. That meant she was caught off guard, which meant it was a good time to try that as an opportunity. Throwing his weight forward as hard as he could, he twisted his body to the left in the biggest jerk he could manage to try and wrench himself free. Yeah it would hurt like hell, yeah it might even break something. But he had to try.

So did his wife. It was possible she didn't even notice the tall woman had doubled over because Maureen was too focused on her husband and his attacker. The dutiful wife rocketed forward, reaching out to grab Michael's shoulders to try and help pull him free. As she tried to help Michael a terrifying thought invaded her head - what if her beloved Goddess chooses not to answer the prayer she had screamed up to the heavens?! The sheer possibility only increased this devout woman's panic. It couldn't be. It wouldn't be! Not on this night when she had finally learned the lesson she was now convinced the divine was trying to show her all along - that this man was as he stood now just as worthy of her love as he was on the day they wed.

So what does a woman of undying faith do when there is no answer to her prayers? She prays harder, longer, stronger. Yelling whatever pieces of prayers to the Goddess of Protection she'd ever learned that sprang to mind in this chaotic moment, anything that she thought could move the divine lady of protection to come and stand for her lifelong followers. "Venis Lady of Protection I call to thee! Safeguard us both against wickedness by my plea! As the wax melts before the match so may this evil melt in your fire! By your glorious majesty we beseech you from evil deliver us! As you serve in peace and protection, hear our prayers! Save my husband, save his wife, save our family! May thy mercy, Lady Venis, descend upon us NOW!"

As Maureen screamed that 'now' with a ferocity that pained her throat, she yanked her husband forward with all her might. If she got him free, she would do everything in her power to get him to his feet so they could run.

Seleen heard the words, she saw Venis' reaction, she was even admittedly caught off guard for a second. But as had been previously stated she was extremely fast. Not to mention the fact that she was a highly trained soldier with superhuman strength and fangs. Fangs. That was right, the couple didn't know they had picked a fight with vampires. She removed her hand from Michaels mouth and grabbed a fist full of his hair. But that was just the beginning.

She felt his shoulder when it was torn out of the socket and she released the arm. She knew it would hurt worse when it fell limp at his side. Then that hand went to his throat. Her fingernails pressed against his flesh as he continued to try and escape. "I will rip your head off." And just seconds after she said that, loud mouthed Maureen was reaching for his shoulders to pull him free. With her mouth opened wide, she showed her fangs, as she hissed at the woman.

"STOP YOUR YELLING!" Venis covered her ears as the woman yelled some more. Oh how she hated that there were people who worshiped her. She had nicknamed them Flamers because they called the church The Church of the Protective Flame. They had no idea that the fire was a side effect and had nothing to do with her protecting them. And at this moment, the last thing she wanted to do, was protect loud mouthed Maureen.

But the prayers, she had no choice. Maureen had evoked the one thing that might save her tree hugging hide. She looked at the woman who had just finished yelling to her again as she was trying to get her husband free from Seleen's grasp. She almost chuckled when Seleen hissed at her.
"Stop it Maureen. I'm right fricken here, you don't have to fricken yell and scream." She shook her head and waited for Maureen to stop and look at her.

Post by Married Sat Jun 27, 2009 1:20 pm

To be fair, it was the vampires who picked this fight. The couple had just been fighting with each other, an art they'd perfected over their ten years of marriage.

Granted they didn't know specifically what kind of creatures these women were but by now they'd figured out that they probably weren't human. Especially Michael, who had been feeling the nature of Seleen's strength and violence ever since she'd twisted his arm behind his back. So when they caught a flash of fangs from these women there would be a spike of fear or panic, but no surprise. The fear of knowing exactly what evil you were dealing with, and the lack of surprise from the confirmation that there was truly an evil upon them.

But then? That spike was gone in an instant, as was all movement. From both of them. Was it because of Seleen's threat? Venis' command? Maybe, in part. But there was else something going on. And it happened right after Venis said she was right there. Maureen didn't stop and look at Venis. She stopped and looked at her husband. Who had jerked his head in her direction just before he too went still.

But it wasn't their bodies that just went still. It was their minds as well. Because knowledge is power. Now that fangs have been flashed they knew the error they'd been making all along. Any smart Rhy'dinian knew. Their thoughts, they needed to quiet them. In Maureen's mind all that ran through was an extended, Lalalalalalalalalala and in Michael's there was just white noise.

They were communicated through their eyes instead. A steady stare that told each other all they needed to know. The Married couple was giving each other a look that conveyed the same piece of information which was unspoken in word or mind - 'They need to know'. When Maureen looked like she was going to hesitate, Michael bowed his head in a very slight nod. That nod made Maureen stand a little straighter as the confidence his nod gave her postured her body.

Look at that. Agreeing on something. Who knew this couple had such a thing left in them. But that's what Faith was. A force that was more than a moral compass. More than a belief in something greater than them. Faith was also a force of humanity - it created tight knit communities of people who bound together stood for each other in the face of any storm.

This was probably the biggest storm their particular parish ever faced. And Maureen and Michael owed it to the rest of the parish to sound the warning bell. The rest of them needed to know exactly what kind of creature they had been putting their faith in.

So Maureen ran.

This would have never even evolved into a fight if Michael had never laid his hands on his wife. But regardless of who picked the fight, Maureen was now running away and leaving him to die. What a shame too. Because they stood a chance until she did that. With a look over to Venis. "Want me to ...?" She was trying so hard not to chuckle at the fact that they quieted their minds. Add to that the fact that she ran and Seleen was ready to bust out laughing.

Quieting their minds would only serve to kept the pair from knowing their thoughts, but not from other thoughts getting in. So this, and the running made Venis chuckle. Did the woman really think she was going to just run off like that? Well, obviously. But did she think it would make her safe? Venis just shook her head. "I got her."

Now, it had been said before, some portals had to be torn, some had to be found, some had to be felt, and some, well some were just there and you could fall into them unaware. This time, Venis had to tear. Her hand rose and a single long slender finger made an invisible line through the night air. Problem solved, instant portal.

She stepped through the portal where she had made the tear. When she stepped out, Maureen ran right into her. She scooped her up and threw her over her shoulders like a sack of potatoes. One step backwards and she was stepping back out the other side, once again in front of Michael and Seleen, with Maureen over her shoulder.

She expected flailing and yelling and fit throwing, even kicking and punching. So these things were brushed off. She stood there, securely holding Maureen, and spoke. "Now, Michael, you are very much wrong if you think that putting your hands on a woman is an acceptable thing to do. I should punch your face in for just that offense alone." And don't think she wasn't tempted.

She shook her head before she spoke again. "Now, seriously, were you two not paying attention in church? They way you two are acting it's like you had no clue what I was. You certainly haven't payed enough attention to recognize me. I know there's a sign that says that you guys worship Venis Sanderson, the VAMPIRE Goddess of Fire and Protection." Ok, she was a little upset at the moment.

She sighed. "Look, you both seem like pretty smart people to me, at least I hope you are. You should have both known I was a vampire. You also should have both been able to recognize me on site. By the way, I hate dinner on the run. But more to my point. Maureen, you prayed for me to save you from evil, so save you I shall." Almost makes you think these two will live to see the light of day.

Venis looked at Seleen with the wickedest of grins. "You see, Maureen dear, the only evil and wickedness I see before me is a husband who doesn't love his wife and would dare to put his hands on her in anger. So Seleen, would you care to save Michael from himself by making sure he never puts his hands on his wife ever again?" She pulled Maureen down from her shoulder.

Once Maureen's feet hit the ground, Venis kept her arms around her. "I am going to save Maureen from ever being pushed or hit by another man, ever again. Enjoy your dinner." She moved Maureen's hair and pulled her head to the side rather forcefully as she leaned down and sank her fangs into the woman's jugular. She looked up to see Seleen forcing Michael up off the ground and biting him as well.

Post by The Odinson Mon Jun 29, 2009 2:07 am

There are times when it was that Gods took a watch of other gods... more so when a god was interested the workings of the other gods, with a great desire to get to know who it is governs this land and the people in it. the elements...

Above, Above the Odinson has seen all that had transpired this night. saw through the veil of stone and steel and flesh, at the goddess and her pet as they sought, their meals for the evening, as they got the couple outside of the building, and still the God of Thunder and Storm, son of Asgard and of Earth... And As the Lord of Storm, Keeper of Mjolnir watched. This Night became the Night when Asgard made itself known in this land.

KRAAAAACKAAA DOOOOOMM!!! Thunder rumbled through the sky, a loud crackle, which was followed by several arcs lightning and the Gods loud Pounding voice .

" You Dare Call yourself a protector?!" Accusatory tone in the angry gods voice. an Angry god, who had split the earth, and ended wars with but a flick of his wrist. an Angry God who decended upon the Alley way with the Mighty hammer Mjolnir raised on high. The Mighty hammer which he slammed against the wall of the club they left, rocking the building in its foundation."You, Goddess of Protection and Fire, who forgets her duties, forgets the responsibility of what it is you are to do! Thou art no God Vampire!! Thou Art naught but a Silly Demon with illusions of Grandure..."

Another rumble in the skies above, Thors Eyes ablaze with the energy at his beck and call, eyes that held for the first time in the present company, Malice. The action was swift Thors Movements brtraying the size of the large msucled man. Mjolnir dropped to the ground, and a hand took full of Seleen's hair, pulling her bloodied mouth from the man's neck the other hand, taking the man by the collar and pulling him from her grasp. The Raven hair vampire was then pushed away, and the man pulled behind the protection of The God of Thunder. it was then that Venis recieved the full weight of Thor's Gaze.

Thor Held his hand towards his hammer, which leapt from the ground into the Waiting grasp of the Odinson "I came to this land, with no Knowledge of who it was that governed it, and no Knowledge of the Gods that called this land home... It saddens me greatly to see that this..." a motion to the woman in Venis' arms and the man behind Thor before he went on."this, is how the gods serve their people..." the hammer was then pointed at Venis." Tell me Vampire... does it please you to feast from one pledged to your worship... one who begged for the protection of her great protector only to find her faith shattered?! Release the woman... as I declare she, and all who share her name are under the protection of Asgard, and all who serve her!"

The hunt was afoot. {Open to vampires and prey.} - Page 2 Empty Re: The hunt was afoot. {Open to vampires and prey.}

Post by Guest Sat Jul 11, 2009 5:46 am

((Ok, so I worked on this for like five hours last night and my computer kept getting slower and slower until it just up and quit. So I lost it. Time to start over. So before I do I am again warning ya'll that this is not going to be a post for young viewers or those who are rather sensitive. This is going to be full on, foul mouthed, unladylike Venis. Some of you might remember her from a few years back. Yea, that Venis. Oh, and for the record, I still cannot reach the admin for the website with the list of God's of Rhy'Din on it, so Dre and Kahn are still not officially on the list.))

As the two vampresses quieted the couple Venis' other senses were working a little louder. That was how she knew even before the thunder crashed that he was there. She had sensed his presence. But it was confirmed by the clap of the thunder ringing in her ears. And it was, of course, followed by the bright arcs of lightning. They lit up the sky as bright as day. Venis would just roll her eyes in response. She would be the first to admit, that even she liked to make an entrance, but yea.

So when the ground shook with Thor's landing she didn't even flinch. When he opened his big mouth, she simply rolled her eyes again. The crashing of his hammer against the side of the bar made her shake her head the tiniest bit. Not much though, given she had a mouth full of food. And as he flapped his gums some more she almost spit blood out her nose trying not to laugh at him. He definitely thought he was better than her and he had no problem mouthing off to her about it.

But then he did something stupid. The malice in his eyes was nothing she hadn't seen a thousand times in the eyes of others. But it was the dropping of the hammer to the ground followed by the physical assault of Seleen. That was the act that caused her temper to flare and her flames to draw near. As Seleen was pushed aside Venis raised a hand pointing her fingers in the direction Seleen was headed. So her landing was cushioned by a pillow of warm air. Then she looked back at Thor, who was staring her down with that look. His words had not harmed her and the look wouldn't either.

Seleen rose up with pure anger in her eyes. Venis held her hand out again, palm facing Seleen. A signal to stop. And Seleen would do just that. After all, she didn't make Lieutenant in Venis' army by disobeying orders. And as Thor continued to run off at the mouth, Venis' hand moved and began a new gesture. This one where Thor would fully be able to see it. And it wasn't the one fingered salute that one might expect. This was one that someone might have as their second guess. Her fingers, still together, bent at the joint where they met the hand. And as they came down they met with her turned in thumb. It looked like a duck bill opening and closing. The international sign for 'you talk to damned much.'

He had called his hammer back to his hand silently, and it reminded her of when she called Benjamin's hat to her hand the same way. That thought was quickly brushed aside though, there was not time for that at the moment. But, Venis had to hand it to him, he had excellent timing. Because the whole time he was flapping his gums and throwing his weight around, the man he had moved over near himself, had continued to bleed from the puncture wounds in his jugular. And when Thor told Venis to release the woman she did. She let her lifeless body fall the the ground in a heap at her feet. The hand that had been holding Maureen was now closed in a fist. And before Venis could even speak, she felt a second object forming in that very same hand.

The most wicked laugh that anyone had ever heard, rang out from Venis' throat as she began to raise her hand. Her hand turned palm up and she then chose to speak. "You want them Thor, here, you can have them." She opened her fingers to reveal two tear drop shaped gems. One a red ruby, the other a diamond. Put them together and they would have made an almost perfect heart. "They have children too. I was just going to have the church take care of them, but if you want them." Both had been said with a voice that carried a certain softness to it. And perhaps just the slightest sting of sarcasm.

She stepped over Maureen's lifeless body as she moved closer to Thor. Her free hand rising to push the hammer away. "And don't point your big hammer at me unless you plan to use it." This was Venis speaking, so she didn't care how he took that comment. As she closed more of the space between them, and now that his hammer didn't look like it was going to be used to run her through as if it were a sword, she turned her hand over again. She was still holding the stones out to him, only now they rested in the gathering of her fingers and thumb rather than her palm.

As she waited to see if he offered her a hand to deposit the stones into, she figured it was time to speak her mind. "And for the record Thor ... I don't give a shit who you think you are. I do not answer to you. This is not Earth, I am not a viking, and you may be my equal, but you are not my superior." Her hand would fall with or without the soul gems. "This is Rhy'Din, you are a guest in these lands. We have enough God's and Goddess' to go around without interference from outsiders." Yea, she was just getting warmed up.

She was trying rather hard to fight off the nausea an the knots in her stomach. She knew she would pay for what she had done, but she refused to pay for it in front of Thor. So she continued. "So, to address your issues, let me begin with the accusation that I am but a silly demon with delusions of grandeur. Kiss my flaming hot ass Thor. I couldn't care less about your opinion of me or of any other God for that matter. You are of no higher rank than the rest of us in the greater scheme of things." And yet, she was still rather calm.

A glance over her shoulder told Seleen to gather up the bodies rather than leave them in heaps upon the ground. So that is exactly what Seleen moved to do. Meanwhile, Venis continued. "I have not forgotten a damned thing. I know who and what I am, and I know my responsibilities. But have you forgotten who and what you are? You are a Norse God, a God of Earth. I may have been born on Earth, I may have become a God while still on Earth, I may even be worshiped in small area's of Earth, but I was given a title here. I was asked to take charge of some things here. I am a God of Rhy'Din. You would do well to remember that." Getting warmer. She glanced over to see Seleen was gathering up Michael, she already held Maureen.

Seleen was moving the bodies over away from the two God's and laying them down. "And you come here, to my lands, to what? Assault one of my vampires like she is a pet to be punished for pissing in the floor. That's bull shit. How would you like it if the shoe was on the other foot and I assaulted one of your Asgardians?" Don't make the mistake of thinking that she wasn't tempted. "Keep your hands off of the women around here, especially if they are one of my vampires. Oh and just to clarify, Blondie, I meant that as far as in anger, if you choose to take a lover that's all on you." Yea, some thing's were none of Venis' business, and she knew it.

She watched as Seleen crossed Michael and Maureen's arms over their chests and she lowered her head for a moment. Then she looked back at Thor. She would have given almost anything for a saltine cracker at this point, but she continued. "At least you can admit that you don't know a f^cking thing about the way things work around here. I am happy to hear you admit that. But you know, you could always stop by for a cup of tea rather than run around acting like my {3} vithing babysitter. I had parents Thor, they died over three hundred years ago. I don't need a new daddy." She shook her head again.

Seleen was standing over by the bodies awaiting further instruction. "Now I have no idea how Azlin, Lexi, Seifer, Gotha, Duo, Reno, Hazuki or any of the other God's of Rhy'Din deal with their worshipers. Or how they serve the people of Rhy'Din. But I know how Kahn, Dre and I handle things. And trust me, you are the first one to ever get into my face and bitch about it." She gave a half chuckle that was more like one huff and she shook her head again. "But you can always go ask them about their business and leave me the hell alone for a while." She turned and tilted her head to pop her neck.

She sighed yet again before she continued. "So you want to know more about me, what brings me pleasure, what makes me who and what I am. Please, allow me to fill you in. Because at this point I think we're a little past a cup of tea and some pleasant conversation. So does it give me pleasure to drink the blood of those who worship me. Not particularly. But how I punish them and for what is my business, not yours. So what does give me pleasure?" She raised an eyebrow as she thought about her pleasures in life. Some of them were even things that she would rather be doing at that very moment.

She thought about each thing as they would come to her mind. Then she picked a few from her list to give to him as examples. "Well, let's see, there's always sex. That's always very pleasurable. Then there's the warm coppery taste of blood running over my tongue and sliding down my throat. I also enjoy a good spar, I love to work up a good sweat. And I derive a lot of pleasure from the pleasure of others because that means that their misery isn't making me sick to my stomach." And those were just some of the things that brought the Goddess pleasure. She definitely could list more, and if he asked, she would.

She cocked her head to the side as she chose to move on. "But let me fill you in on some well known facts, so maybe you'll have a better idea of who and what I am and you'll get off my damned ass. My mother was a white witch." She plucked a few hairs from her head and balled them up in the palm of her hand. Then she burned them to ashes. She looked over at a crack in the cement before she spoke again. {1} "Produire la vie." And she blew the ashes from her palm to the crack. A very strong daffodil rose from those ashes to shine bright in the artificial light. "Which made me a good girl." She smiled at the thoughts in her mind.

She touched her index finger to her fang making the slightest cut to her flesh and causing some blood to flow. "My father was a dark witch or a warlock." She puddled some of the blood in her palm as her finger was closing. She burned it to a dust in the palm of her hand. {2} "Cal dro siltrin." And she blew the powder onto the flower. It grew teeth and began to chomp at the air. "Which made me a bad girl too, so, balanced." She laughed at that. She did find a sick and perverse humor in turning an innocent flower into a carnivore. She did hope, though, that Thor wouldn't try to touch it. After all, it would bite. Much like Venis had a habit of doing.

She scanned the alley as she continued with her bravura. "And along came my sire. Who chose to make me a vampire." And she spotted what she had been looking for. A pair of beady little red eyes. She looked into those eyes telling the vermin to go over to the plant. The rat was reluctant at first, but it gave in to her mind control and moved over to the flower. "Which made me a truly wicked girl." And just as the rat got close enough, the flower bent at the stem and bit down into the rat's neck. The blood was squirting all over the once yellow bloom.

She looked at Thor to see how he was reacting to her little display. Then she moved towards the flower and the now dead rat. "But then the time came, when I had to evolve yet again." She picked the flower and watched it dance in her hand, snapping at her. "The only way I could save humanity from extinction, which would have eventually caused vampires to become extinct as well, was to become a God." The flower wilted in her hand in an instant. she reached down and picked up the rat with the other hand. It sprang to life in her hand and jumped down to scurry away. "Which balanced me out again" She watched as the rat ran away before looking back at Thor.

She wasn't expecting a look of shock or some other similar reaction, but if one was upon his face, she wouldn't be surprised by that either. "So every time I roll my happy ass out of bed, I make a choice. I choose between good and evil. You know, usually I choose good. Because it is what I am supposed to choose. But I also chose to keep my physical body when I became a God. Which meant that I had to keep this body alive. Could I have chose to be human again, probably. But for a very long time, I was that which went bump in the night, and I rather enjoy it. So I nourish this body, that I chose to keep, by whatever means I deem necessary." She looked over at Seleen for a moment.

Seleen was still just standing there with her feet shoulder width apart and her arms crossed over her chest. She looked back at Thor. "Seleen isn't a God, and she requires more nourishment than I do. So I brought her out for a hunt tonight. I needed to see if she had enough self-control to stay off of her medication. It's not our fault that the idiots were {4} jodido flamers. I was considering letting them live, but they just kept up their shit. I was even thinking I might bring them back, but your big ass showed up, flappin' your gums. I might still bring them back, I don't know yet." She wanted to laugh, because she meant that Thor himself was big, not his rear end.

She looked at Seleen again, who looked as though she was fighting back a fit of laughter. Back to Thor. "So is there something else I can help you with, or are you just going to give in to the fact that I am a vampire and a God and such is life, or afterlife as the case happens to be?" She was almost positive that this wasn't going to be the end of it, so she waited. She thought he might have more to say. She was prepared. She even had more foul language and disrespecting tones lined up for him. If he left it where it was and went away, she would actually be surprised for once. But that almost never happened.

She did make a mental note while she waited though. She had to go by the churches and find out who is lying to their perisheners, even if it was lying by omission. And she couldn't wait for Thor to leave so she could either puke or get some crackers into her system. The nausea was getting worse the more she tried to hold it back. It was her curse, and she knew it would be for eternity. But she would never give Thor the satisfaction of seeing her puke. She just hoped that she was maintaining a good 'poker face' and he couldn't see it in her face that she felt sick. After all, she was a vampire, pale was normal. It was a good thing that Michael and Maureen hadn't been up for Sainthood or something, she would have already lost it for killing someone so purely innocent.

Venis would find that her push against the hammer Mjolnir would be just as effective as her trying to push a mountain from its place. Thor was not a force Venis would want to Triffle with. The Battle would not last very long and would not end in the Vampire's Favor.

Eyes Watched her hypocritical movements while he spoke. and then watched as she pulled the souls from the bodies, encapsulating them into the two gems that where then held to the God. Only then did the hammer move. Only then did the God of Thunder Lower it; the opposite hand came up to liberate the soul gems from her hand. "I fear the lovely couple wish not for the hospitality of a church which had garnered a shattered faith..." Thor then turned his back to the woman. starting from the ally way, he had work to do, and lives to save. but he stopped and turned to face her when he heard that she saw him an an equal... a brow rising in curious thought, a glance back over his shoulder.

And Before the Vampiress could get on with her life story Thor would cut her off, saying only." We are now, and never will be Equals... as it is, Asgard will help any and all that call for the help of the gods... as those of this land, seem rather busy..."

That was when Thor with the gemstones in hand swung the massive Mjolnir into the air and carried the Thunderer into the sky. Off and away, which meant that all of Venis' Life story, would not be heard by the man she intended it for as he was gone before she started again to speak. perhaps it was that Selene would enjoy the long story. Thor cared not for it. he had better things to do. It was indeed fortuitous that Thor had found the Enchantress, she would soon have work to do.
