Violet, was not at the Inn, she had yet to return actually from the Marques’s home. Surely she should of returned back to the Inn to the rooms she shared with Gwen, but she was still, in thoughts. She was unsure if she wished to keep rooming with Gwendolyn. Not that she didn’t love the girl, but really, she would feel quite funny if she brought a guy back to the room. That was something the girl might do in the future, and so it was best to take care of any problems before they happened.

Lazy, the girl was being lazy at the moment, for while she thought she was laying about in the rather large, and lonely, bed. But that was not for long, oh it wasn’t that she thought that the bed would get less large or less lonely, only that she was getting out of the bed. Hands reached for the sheer light pink wrap, which she wrapped about her form, which all the important parts of her were indeed covered. A black lacey bra with scalloped edges, could be clearly seen, along with a pair of matching French style bikini underwear, a garter belt that had holders for the thigh high panty hose she wore. Feet were slipped into a pair of black heels.

Once out of the bed she moved over to the vanity to begin brushing her hair, which she did until it shined. She had already had her breakfast the girl that was there to help her out, had brought her a tray earlier, even though Violet has said not to bother, and since it was brought to her she ate it. Vi had spent quite a bit of time with the girl. She did not take advantage of the girl, and often told her she would be fine on her own, but the girl usually just bobbed her head and continued in the fashion she had been on.

Smile slipping over her features, as she stretched watching herself in the mirror, she had an ego but it wasn’t that horrible. It was one of those, she knew she could pull off the skimpy outfit that due to the garter and thigh highs covered more then a bathing suit, made her happy. Standing she would before she would make her way to the door, pulling it open and going out.

The Marques and Leo had been gone for a while now, and if any of the other guests had stayed they kept away from Violet, almost as if there had been a do not disturb sign that followed her. When she reached the tiled floors the heels would click click click against them, but that hadn’t stopped her. She was headed to explore the house more.

Where she went no one knew…except her when she got there….peeking in this door and that, unsure of what she was looking for, just that she was getting slightly restless, debating about running a muck but instead decided to see what she could find. She was a rather curious girl, hence her changing into a cat so often. What would the girl find out.

In the days and weeks that followed the dinner that had been at Manor del Stry the staff had done the job that they always do: keeping it as was expected and tending to guest as they were. One such guest was Miss Violet, as that was how they knew to call her from said dinner. She had been a companion to the friend of Master Mînguez but by the end of that night she was the guest of the Marqués and that made a difference.

Calisa continued to do her task in assisting Miss Violet with the things that she needed and leaving her alone when it was requested. Such as today. The way in which she dressed herself to go out did catch one or two eyes but they were turned away quickly less she knew that they were staring. It had been a while since they saw a female walking around in some less than covering and she can be assured that word and talk traveled amongst the servants even if they spoke and acted no differently when faced with her.

They knew better.

Something else that didn't escape attention was that Miss Violet was a guest and she was wandering around the Manor unescorted. Perhaps she didn't know that every time Calisa was seen about doing other things she was questioned by Alma as to why she was not with her assigned person. This certainly would not do at all for she ran a respective household and a female guest unescorted was simply an atrocity.

Alma walked down the halls with a thin and long royal purple robe made of satin wrapped over an arm and found Miss Violet looking into the Room of Records, a very interesting place if you were a person who liked to know paperwork. It held the accounts of the Manor and other estates (the Marqués had quite a few, not only here but across the seas), the wine trade, salary's, production of various things, even employment records and details on all who were in the Stry's employ. At first glance it may look like a room of books and records but there was a lot to be found out by looking at records. The room was dark mahogany with polished floors. There was more than one desk there and covered lamps gave light to the room and a plush lounger for relaxing or reading.

Alma walked up behind Violet and cleared her throat as she stood there with her shoulders back and chin up. Her white and grey hair pulled back on her face and while sported wrinkles she didn't have the weakness of old age. "Miss Violet."

Violet blinked as the door opened behind her, not that the door had been completely closed but it had been pushed near to it after she entered. It wasn’t that she wished to get the girl in trouble, or make other’s look at her differently, she just wasn’t used to having a companion that waited on her. Nor did she want to get used to it, that could get a girl in trouble.

As it was most of the servants were always in the background and it got to the point that she didn’t even realize they were there, wasn’t that how a good household was ran? Plus the outfit she wore covered as much if not more then a summer time bikini. Either way when Alma walked in she perked her head up, a impish sheepish mix of a grin slipped over her features. “Alma! Hello! How are you today?”

Alma had entered right before she had any real chance to explore, and she figured she would ask. “Is this another of the off limit rooms?” She had a knack for finding such rooms, even without even really trying too. The book she had pulled off the shelve was a dark mahogany red with gold etchings, though nothing was written on the spine. Her other hand lifted upwards to brush back a few locks of the pale blonde hair.

Alma looked around after entering in the room, her eyes making an obvious glance around the room to see if anything was there that shouldn't be or otherwise. "Where is your attendant, Child?" Alma was just as bold when speaking to her as she was when addressing the Marquès or Leo - aside from the Head Butler (whom she has yet to met) none of the other servants would dare call her anything other than the name they were given.

Very good servants they were to for they were practically invisible.

"It is indecent for one such as yourself to go traipsing about alone," continuing on as she approached Violet to get a closer look at what she had in her hand. Not all the books here had labels as to what the content was but each grouping of books had similarities to tell where it went. "Especially if you do not know where you are going. She can keep you in the proper places."

Alma was putting out the suggestion that Violet was lost, not that she was where she shouldn't be even if that's how it sounded. The old lady looked down at Violet with a curious gaze while standing there with her hands held together and down in front of her. "Tell me, Miss Violet, are you waiting for the Lady Gwendolyn to return and take you from this place? It has been quite a while that she has been gone. Or perhaps you are looking for work in the Marquès' employ?" Other guest who had rooms had stayed around a day or two after that Dinner, enough to recoup, and Alma was not the only one who wondered why the young lady had decided to stay. Some of the servants thought that it was because she had nowhere to go, it wasn't uncommon for they've had attendants of other guest leave that service in favor of being here.

Violet blinked, it was true, it was like a game for her, perhaps a childish game, to lose her attendant. Sometimes for someone that was not raised to have someone wait on you hand and foot, well okay to have to fend for yourself from a young age, having someone waiting for your beckoning with every moment of their breaths was a bit…freaky. Something she had a feeling it would take time to get used to and in the time she had been there, she had not.

“One such as myself? If I was someone else it would be okay?” Such as herself she did wonder what Alma meant by that? She was not a paid escort, she was not a child, but yet, such as yourself? A unwed female? She had these thoughts just tumbling until she heard Alma’s voice again. “Sometimes it is more interesting to go to the improper places.” She wasn’t back talking intentionally but she was speaking her thoughts, instead of holding them in and muttering later, when someone else would over hear and run to her to say. Violet said this!

Now here goes Alma asking questions! And well Violet just burst into tears! She did, the book was set down, because she crumpled to the floor like a deflated balloon, yet she looked utterly charming in doing such a graceful being she was. Hands lifting to cover her face. A soft sniffle, ladylike even. “I…am not looking to work here. I am well taken care of.” She was indeed there was a payment for her job she had regarding Gwen and she had been paid quite well. “But…I can’t leave.” She really could not leave as she was about to explain. “Every time I try to step out the front door, where Gwen and I came in, I walk right back into the room I am staying in here.” She let out a sigh, she had tried to leave, before her hands lowered and she looked up to Alma. “Do you think the Marques is quite put out that I have not yet left?” She had not heard that he was, and he had said she could stay as long as she wished, perhaps he had not meant it!

"If you were someone else you would not have to ask," was the calm reply that Alma gave in regards to who she was. Who would she have to be? That was a question, wasn't it?

Some people never really got use to having people around them all the time. They considered it an invasion of privacy because the attendant was never to far that they could hear their persons call. Others carried on as if it were a natural thing. The servants talked amongst themselves about things - why would they not - but they always knew what not to say.

When Violet put the book down and began to cry Alma raised an eye at her before regarding the book. She had a copy of the business records for the wine trade, the many things that were inside of there.....But what was this? She said she could not leave?

"How very odd that is considering that your companion left quite easily." For it was true. None had known that the Lady Gwendolyn had left until Jenna had gone to bring her food and found the window open and the room empty. "If you truely wanted to leave and not simply explore unattended you should have had no problem." It was the only thing she could have thought of as to why such a thing happened as it was the first time she heard of someone not being able to leave. Of course, the girl could be under some enchantment that prevents her form leaving a place she was taken to unless someone took her from it.

The crying did not phase Alma who was too old, and too seasoned, to be moved by something so quickly come on especially when there was a solution. "As your desire is to leave I shall have the carriage brought around for you while you go back to your room and pack. Calisa will then help you to the carriage and you can be on your way."

A small pause before she continued with, "Unless you do wish to stay, in that case you will be put to good use." Alma was not going to speak on the opinion of the Marqués, if he said she could stay for as long as she wanted then she could, however, he did not say that during that stay she would not have to do anything.

The woman was rude. Not just because of her station of being the Marquess know it all but she simply was a rude woman. Not because of her age, thinking it afforded her things, not because she wasn’t young anymore, some people had a natural kindness in them some had a natural bitch, Alma seemed to fall into the last category. Violet had not done anything intentionally to upset the woman, she pretty much kept out of her way, but the woman was a rude bitch. Plain and simple. If you asked Violet. A huff, yes she huffed at Alma’s response, sure when you’re a gust somewhere your suppose to be polite, but if your treated with disdain over and over, politeness was bound to wear off. Why give one respect when they gave you none? Exactly.

Or maybe it was just creepy. She had been around homes where servants were issued to assist with things, but here, here it was just creepy. One did not have to call out to have a servant/ attendant to dance upon them, because they were constantly lurking, lurking and waiting to jump.

Her head lifted and tear filled eyes looked at Alma almost accusingly. “You think I didn’t notice she was gone? Seriously, do you think me daft?” Bitch, was left off, she knew Gwen had left and had done so on her own, the woman seriously was rubbing Violet the wrong way. Not like a female that was protecting her man sort of way but just as a in general I can be rude to you because I belong here and you don’t. Look at the great hospitality that this place offered. If she could EVER get out, you could bet she wouldn’t want to come back, that was putting it mildly. “Well Ms. Know It All…I did put on the clothing I had come with and I did grab my small bag and I did try to leave. More then once, thank-you-very-much…and every time I stepped out the door I wound up in the room upstairs.” Rude. Oh she was lividly pissed off. She pushed herself off the floor and shook her head, the old BIDDY had not a clue why she couldn’t leave she was just making up things in her head. Simply because SO and so did this..it must be the same. Book judger!

“Do that!” Was spoken to the woman, the girl was young so perhaps her calmness did not stay as long as the evil Alma’s as she was thinking of her. But most passionate people would not of held it as long as she had. They would have been railing at the doors. Instead of attempting such a thing, daily, before giving up. Passion was much better then being a cold dead fish. Least in her book. She walked past Alma, and up to the room she had been assigned during her visit.

Once she was in the room, she took off the see thru robe and put on the pair of jersey pants and shirt she had came in. Then putting her personal belongings in the small bag, which was no much, leaving behind the clothing that had been there for her to borrow, weather it was Leo’s or the Marquess, she did not know nor question. As she was doing such, Calisa would show up, and watch. Weather she was watching to make sure that she only took what she came with or simply because the attendants were creepy, Vi did not know nor did she care.

A deep breath before she looked to Calisa, whom at one time she had gotten along with, until Alma. The two could have been friends if she had shown any compassion for the situation that the young Violet was in. She would allow the girl to assist her and even attempt to walk out the door to the waiting carriage that Violet could see. But that was not the case, because as soon as she went to walk through the door to go outside, Calisa would make it out, Violet would be thrown back into the room she was staying with, along with her small bag she had been carrying.

“WHY!!!!” Would be the single word she screamed. Yes she screamed. “I am not wanted here and yet you evil place won’t let me free!” A thought came to her, even though they were not on the main floor and up some stairs, Gwen to have gotten out with out anyone knowing would have had to leave by the window. How else could she whom was not sneaky of snuck out? Yes, the window. Her items were taken with her, as she made her way to the rather large window, a small struggle before she got it open. Looking down, and thinking this was not the best idea, yet unable to find another way to escape, and needing to get away, she jumped.

She felt the fresh air as she was out! She was finally out! And she had that thought before she began to tumble against something hard, hitting herself quite a few times before rolling and the free falling feeling before she fell onto the ground below. Her left leg and right arm both were jutted out at odd angles. Body landed face up, but her head was turned from where she hit her head on a rock, thankfully or perhaps not in Alma’s book, there was no blood on the rock. Something had hit her in the face on the way down for she was sporting a very pretty already bruised left eye. Breathing she was, but conscious she was not, shallow. Scrapes and bruises were already popping up from the leap.

She had finally gotten out of the Manor.

Post by The Duke Mon Feb 28, 2011 4:42 pm

The Duke of Wellington had been a guest of the Marques for they did business here and there. He had been trying to get the young Miss Violet alone ever since he saw her dancing with the Marques at the dinner. Something about the way the lass moved had him wanting to get to know her better. Every move of his was thwarted, every attempted advance had been blocked, a fact that did not make him happy. Right then and there he decided that he would claim her for his own. The Duke was known for having escorts but never for any amount of time. Never any relationship that might be considered serious in any form of the word.

The Duke had been working out the details of the latest business arrangement that he was debating about with the Marques. Having missed the commotion between Alma and the young Miss Violet. Rolling the parchment into a tube shape, taking a string to tie the forms, then sealing the middle of the forms with melted wax with his signet ring. He would leave the parchment upon the dresser as he had in the past.

His man had gone out to get the carriage ready. Already the black coach with the silver markings and insignia on the door marking it as his was loaded with the Dukes luggage. Having just made his way out the doors he noticed the other carriage perhaps fate was smiling upon the Duke. If it was meant for the young lass he would be able to follow it without looking suspicious. Pausing for being a gentleman would not allow him to hop into his carriage and be driven away. Being a gentleman required that he wait at the bottom of the steps and escort the gel into the carriage. But to his surprise when the door opened and he saw Miss Violet with the attendant that had been assigned to her the attendant made it outside but the young lass just disappeared. That was interesting to say the least. Best to pretend that all was normal and she had changed her mind. He was not going to say that he saw a young female attempting to leave the Marques’s home and just disappear. People would think the Duke had gone mad.

Holding up one finger to his coachman he figured he should get exercise before putting himself in the carriage for a long ride. Once around the Marques’s estate should do. For him to walk around the home was not uncommon before he left it was something he normally did. But this time something was different because as he rounded a corner he could swear that he saw something that did not belong. Steps sped up when he saw the body that was on the ground. Spotting that it was indeed Miss Violet he bent near her body seeing the odd angles of her arm and leg he looked around. Not seeing anyone he moved his hands quickly over the other parts of her body which might of got a few moans. Deciding nothing vital was broken he lifted the lass up and into his arms, her broken arm was facing out, though the leg that had been out at an odd angle was facing him, arm under the knees. Other arm was behind her back, letting Miss Violets head rest against his chest.

Moving quickly he deposited Miss Violet into his carriage on the empty seat before looking around still not seeing anyone he slipped inside. Lifting the lass head he moved to place it on his lap so he might help her from being jostled to much from the ride. Lifting his walking stick that had been inside he rapped it on the ceiling. The carriage began its decent.

From the fall the girl was still unconscious when her broken body had been lifted from the ground. As the man picked her up soft little pain filled moans and groans. The whole time that she was transported from the ground to the carriage, little jolts of pain would cause her passed out state to stay in place, but it did not stop the small pain filled noises. Nothing that would truthfully draw attention to the two. Her head had lolled until it landed against the man’s chest.

It was when he set her down in the carriage and lifted her head to his lap, that her eyes opened a moment, and she let out a scream. No telling how loud that scream was, as she was hurting and unsure of where she was or how she had gotten there. “I’m out.” As in out of the Marques’s home. And then she was passed out again, on the man’s lap, the man that at the moment she couldn’t put a face or a name too.

He expected the small noises when he moved the lass. It was the scream that threw him off but only a moment. His hand moved up to brush away the dark blue patterned curtain to look out. A grin formed when he saw that no one had heard the scream. The grin could mean bad things for the girl for it looked like she would not be saved from his clutches. The carriage started at that moment to move forward. The ride was not overly bumpy so the young lass did not get jarred around to badly.

Hours passed as the carriage continued on the way to the Duke’s Estate. Well, truthfully, to his nearest estate he had property in more then one area. It would make it easier for him to move the young lass around in case anyone came to look for her before he was ready to let her go. Plans, he had big plans, for Miss Violet.

Once the carriage rolled to a stop outside of the manor he would carefully lift and lower Miss Violet’s head. Climbing out he would leave the walking stick inside the carriage. Reaching back in he carriage he lifted the lass out of the carriage, cradling her carefully, not jostling her more then he needed to get her inside. Once inside he carried her to a bedroom on the first floor laying her on the bed and sent for the doctor.

Before the doctor left the lass had two casts one on her arm and one on her leg. The doctor left some drugs to help her take the edge off the pain. All that was left to do was wait for the girl to wake up.

{ Sorry it took me a while to get into Violet’s head!}

Violet had been having a wickedly good dream. She had been able to fly, one of those dreams of things that you know you can’t really do, but you can in your dream and it made you happy. It was while she was flying that the girl misjudged a turn and she smacked right into a tree. The pain from the hit, or so she thought that it was from, woke her up. Her eyes snapped to attention, as she looked around, trying to figure out just where the heck she was. Violet gaze drifted around the room, nothing looked familiar, and what was worse she felt the throbbing pain in her head, the limited mobility of her arm and leg, and the feeling of pain, shooting through her whole form. A soft wince as she was trying to be on the quiet side as she did not know if she was in friendly or foe quarters. Though the fact being that she was healed up was something right?

A deep breath, okay it wasn’t so deep because she realized when she was inhaling that she couldn’t take in such a deep breath, which resulted in a coughing fit. Her hand that was attached the bruised and scraped up arm lifted to cover her mouth. Once the coughing fit subsided she cried out softly. “OWwwwww.” It had hurt. It all came back to her, the window jumping because she couldn’t leave the place, how the old lady had made her feel, desperate enough to jump out a window.

But now she was curious, where she was, whom obviously lifted her up off the floor. Oh heavens please tell her she had not jumped out the window to land right back into the home she had been trying to escape. And if she had would she be able to escape it again or would this be a never ending circle. Hint of panic would begin to show in her eyes.
