Christmas gifts at the door

(i know its a bit late :-) )

Inion hadn't expected the Christmas gifts to be handed out by Santa, so she had made arrangements to have Croga deliver the gifts she and Juliet had made. She felt a little quilty at first but with so many gifts being handed out, she felt better knowing that after a long day of celebrating everyone would get one more surprise when they returned to their rooms. She didn't know many of the people at the Inn so her and Juliet came up with the idea of making gift baskets for everyone. Outside each door was a basket for each person in that room. They had spent the last few days locked in their room baking, so each little picnic basket heeld several pink boxes. There was 3 types of fudge, 2 types of small cakes, a small molten chocolate cake with a note that its best warmed up, 5 different types of cookies, various homemade chocolate candies and 10 envolopes of her hot chocolate in poweder form. For the animals that sheknew of, they had thier own little baskets. For Kjay various smoked beef treats and a very large bone, for Levi, which was left along with Kjay's since they didn't know which room was hers, a basket simaliar to Kjay's, for the smaller cat the basket had smaller treats and a catnip plant. There were a few people that had gotten extra gifts, those she had gotten to know a bit more. For Epiphany an extra basket of fresh fruit and a book "A Concoction Of Magical Drinks" For Ar an extra basket with silicone baking pans and a baking cookbook and a not "If you ever would like company while baking come knock on our door." For Elassar an extra basket with new gardening tools and a bag of tulip bulbs with instructions on when and how to plant. And of course for Leo a blue velvet silk lined box with a note "someplace safe to keep your Halo"

Leviathan had been let out of the room by an un-noticing Tasha. She was locked away putting away her gifts. Leviathan had seen the gift baskets and it had gotten her so excited that she nearly forgot why she was being let out of the room. She didn't even finish going out of the door so Tasha could close it behind her. She turned back around and got Tasha's attention.

Tasha looked to see what had Levi so riled up. She saw the gift basket and smiled. She had not been expecting others to give gifts. She knew that her 'family' always did such things, but this was a very pleasant surprise. She knelt down to pick up the basket and that was when she saw the other baskets in front of the doors. She picked it up and knew who it was from almost immediately.

She kind of chuckled as she looked down the hallway. JonLouis had been staying in the same room as the nine employee's. There was no way the men would get out the door without noticing the ten gift baskets in front of the door. She crossed the hall to Seleen and Shuda's room and knocked. Then she moved next door to Casie's room. She had an extra basket, so Tasha got nosy. She smiled when she read the cards. "Here's one for you Levi old girl." She smiled more as she knocked upon Casie's door.

Then it was back across the hall to Venis' room. Even Midnight got a treat basket, it was nice to know that people outside of the 'family' could overlook her snobbish ways and treat her during the holiday's. She moved on to the Employee's room and knocked upon their door. Then it was across the hall one more time to knock upon the door of the room where The Marques del Stry and Leo were staying.

No one had answered her knock as she was knocking. And she had no idea if any of the newly added rooms had occupants or not as there were no baskets in front of the doors. But she made her way back to her room with her basket and Levi's in hand. She had another name to add to her list of thank you cards.

Venis heard a knock upon her door. It was closed because she had been getting some rest. Yes, rest. So she got up and went to the door. By the time she reached it Tasha was headed back to her own room. She looked down to see why Midnight had actually gotten up and came to the door. That was when she saw them.

She bent down and picked up the baskets. Reading the tags made her smile. "One for me, one for you." She was of course talking to Midnight. "They're from Lady Inion and young Juliet. We must thank them later." They went inside and closed the door. It was a very sweet gesture. And definitely an unexpected one.

Cas opened the door a few hours later and found baskets for her and the kids, also one that was definatly Kjay's. She brought them inside and set them on the dresser.
