In his case it was not that his gifts were not a part of him .... There were special circumstances surrounding his physical self that required the use of such energy lines and other loci for the purpose of using his gift or recovering after using them.

"Ley Lines are usually stable, though this area of the world is a bit new to me. The Line I used once before was near the heart of Rhy'Din City, smack in the middle of a Mage Academy. They were .... less than happy with my use of the Line." For all intents and purposes the manner in which he used them was akin to the manner in which a Psychic Vampire feeds off of other people. If ever asked he'd be rather direct in exactly why he must do such a thing and really it was not hard for those who were energy aware to see. He was aware of energy and could even manipulate it and use it to power his own gifts .... but his own internal energies were sealed for one reason or another. The nature of the seal isn't so obvious however.

"Even if you don't know of anyone who would know of where a Line is, it's alright," Here he paused to softly chuckle, taking a long puff from his pipe, "If you know of any place around here that simply feels ... calm and is surrounded by nature, such a place works just as well."

Not everyone had gifts that were part of them, of that she knew, but she just did not realize how they recharged themselves in what circumstances. If something did not overly effect another it wasn't always something that one did research upon.

She would give a small nod of her head. "If you can not find one here, perhaps you might have to travel a bit." It wasn't that the place was super far from here, it was a reasonable amount of travel though. But first things first right?

A small nod of her head. "Oh!" Now that he said it that way it gave her an idea or two. "The waterfalls...tis very calm and peaceful...tis very surrounded by nature. And tis not very often that you run into another there." As it was her favorite bathing place, she went there almost daily and only had one bump in to someone else, though it was a very nice bumping into. She would wait to see if it sounded good to him, before giving him more options.

He nodded slowly to affirm that it would indeed be a bit of a trek to find a Leyline if there was not one nearby. He could use just about any plentiful energies but generally the only places he found enough - outside of a living being - were Leylines and areas of serenity. The latter were often areas where an Elemental dwelled or once dwelt ...

"That actually sounds perfect."

Another smile crossed his lips then - yes, a waterfall would indeed be perfect. Such a place was often inhabited by unseen Undines and, if near any wooded areas, Dryads.
