Sightseeing and Shopping [open]

It seems all this fresh air she’s been experiencing on this trip has pumped up her appetite. It’s a good thing she has a high metabolism with the manner in which she’s been eating! She had just finished a lunch of chicken fried steak, loaded mashed potatoes with cream gravy, green beans, rolls and unsweetened ice tea. The last made her laugh – as if!

But she felt the need to walk around and do some sightseeing and shopping in New Haven. Hoping she’ll bump into someone – stranger or friend, didn’t matter – she scooped up the hand crocheted lace shawl and wrapped it about her bare shoulders. It was a darker coral color than the skirt she wore, and it set off the white of the peasant top even more.

All set for an afternoon of what she hoped would be an adventure, she started from the dining room across to the Inne’s door.

It was a quick trip across the Inne, and soon she stood on the front steps. If anyone were to look at her that exact moment, it would not be hard to discern the disappointment that shadowed her lovely countenance. There had been a few lurkers about, but none of them spoke a word to her. This was not as she remembered it from her previous visit.

With a sigh she continued up the lane heading towards the various shops. She had planned to do some shopping while here; but now, now she would probably wind up spending more than previously planned to make up for her disappointment.

Where was the Furball, she wondered, Airtia? Venis? And so many others? Even a chance to meet someone new would be a nice change from ... from this. Perhaps everyone was right and she should have remained in Tzaddi.

The clear cup with a domed lid and a green straw was almost as big as her head. The brown, ice cold, milkshake like, drink inside was about one fourth gone. The redhead carrying the cup hadn't taken the straw from her mouth since she had put it there. Mocha Frappucino's from Starbucks had become her latest obsession. And with all the running around from place to place that she had been doing made it so that the caffeine and the calories weren't an issue.

The large black panther was walking along on her leash, not bothering her companion in any way. She was actually leading her through the market place because she knew that the redhead wasn't paying any attention. But she picked up a familiar scent. She hadn't smelled this particular being in so many years. So she started weaving through the crowd in search of this scent.

She wasn't worried about where Leviathan was leading her. She knew her way back to all of the places they were staying these days. So Tasha continued drinking her coffee and just following along, not even looking where they were going.

There was the source of the scent. Levi padded over to the golden haired woman and rubbed against her legs, purring like a kitten. This kitten just happened to be over a hundred and fifty pounds.

She finally stopped sucking on the straw when she felt Levi stop walking. "Levi, come on girl. So sorry ma' ..." Now that the scent of chocolate wasn't filling her nose, she smelled the same person Levi had smelled. She stood there with her mouth agape a moment, unable to speak. And on a side note, not even a werepanther can smell anything past the scent of chocolate.

Having drifted in and out of two stores and managing not to buy a thing, she was more successful in the third. She had found a fan – its frame a gleaming black onyx, the pleats between the ‘bones’ of the fan were of black lace whose intricate pattern reminded her of a spider’s web. Of course, that alone was reason enough for her to purchase it.

Try as she might, she could not get Rhia to wear combs in that unruly mane of hers. There was only one comb she herself would ever wear. So she purchased the beautiful mother of pearl comb with three inlaid diamonds for Elz'beth.

If she was to find anything for Nate and Angus, she would have to locate a different type of store. Stepping out on the walk and pausing, she looked around to see which direction to head next. That is when she spied the gi-normous cup with a shock of red hair that seemingly exploded from around it. It prevented her from determining who might be behind it.

However, the ‘kitten’ now rubbing itself against her legs tugged at a memory. As the great cat lifted its head, fingertips began to caress, then scratch her ears and along the side of her head. A grin rested on her lips as she saw the cup getting closer, then stop and lower slightly. Soft laughter echoed as she caught the look of shock on the young woman’s face.

“Hello Tasha!”

Levi purred louder as Gypzee scratched her head and ears. She hadn't seen Gypzee in a long time. Once Tasha and Venis had gone missing, Levi didn't stay at the SBR long. She didn't want to be a burden. So she had taken off for the Keep where she knew people were paid to take care of her. So it had been years since she had seen Gypzee.

Tasha squealed with a sound that would have someone guessing her age at about twenty-six years younger than her actual age of forty-two. And, since she aged super slow, she looked almost that same twenty-six years younger too. "Ggyyyppppzzzzeeeeeeeeeee!!!" So much excitement in that high pitched sound as she rushed the woman. She held her drink out away from them and reached to throw her other arm around Gypzee's neck for a hug, unless Gypzee moved first.

Once the hug was either finished, or avoided, Tasha would smile brightly, making her emerald hued eyes, that were now going to look like the eyes of a cat forever, sparkle brightly. "By the Gods. I haven't seen you in so long. I came back to find the SBR closed down. You were gone. How have you been? I've missed you." She had a serious case of jabber jaw. Ok, so maybe the caffeine had a little bit of an effect on her. But she paused to breathe and to let Gypzee have a chance to speak.

Laughingly she cringed a bit at the squeal that assaulted her ears. She quickly dropped her shopping bags as she excitedly returned the hug. Hers was the first familiar face she had seen since arriving – her first “blast from the past.” Emerald hues twinkled as she gave her one more hug for good measure.

“Aye, ‘tis been quite some time!” nodding. Time wasn’t always kind to Gypzee’s memory, and she did not recall Tasha had been missing all those years ago. But then again, perhaps it was being kind in withholding some of those.

At the mention of the SBR, she sighed softly. “Sorry I was to close her down. A lot of good times happened there. I’ve been good. But how have you been? What have you been up to? Where is everyone?”

Evidently jabber jaw is not caused by just caffeine.
