What is Rhydin?

What is Rhydin? Empty What is Rhydin?

In response to a poised question, this is here for others who may have the same question.

Goblins? Ancient kings? A Fortune 500 CEO Executive? What's going on here?

Rhydin is the name of the country and the name of the continent. It is a unique place and exist in a Nexus. [a map of the largest area if Rhydin is Rhydin City ] This means that all manner of creatures, from the year 2285 or 10,000 BC could potentially find their way here. Perhaps they were driving their car in modern-day Manhattan, made a wrong turn, and suddenly found themselves in a very different place? Or maybe a caveman ran inside a cave to hide from T-Rex and found himself in this strange new world. A sailors ship is tossed about in the seas and he finds himself here. The possibilites are endless.

Because of this Nexus Rhydin is, essentially, a huge melting pot, there are areas in the city which are more modern than others (some places were electricity works for example.) As with any migration, races, cultures, animals and plant life, begin to grow and populate. Over the hundreds of years that Rhydin has been in existence, some things are native. The lands have been explored and there is "some" rhyme and reason, being that the are established lands and countries. To those who have been in Rhydin their whole lives, or who have been here for a while, it is not uncommon to find a Draconian walking down the street, dwarves, chugging down ale, or to realize that the things that go 'bump in the night' are real.

Not all the inhabitants of Rhydin get along - no place is as peaceful as that. Different races and cultures make for a vast myrid of belief systems and political views. It's possible that some may have ideas to another, as people learn to find comparisons and compromises. Everyday life in Rhydin can be not-so-ordinary.

If you can imagine it, in Rhydin, it's possibly possible.
