Valentine's Day Dinner Empty Valentine's Day Dinner

Rose had been planning something special for this day since she wasn't going to the ball and she had heard that Dre wasn't going to go either. She went out around town to get the items she needed. Rose had brought back baskets of food and ale for Dre, her and Sage. She didn't know if Sage was going to join them but she brought enough just in case. Rose had the baskets delivered to their room and began setting everything up. It was set up in a restaurant type fashion with candles set around the room and a table with chairs set up. Once everything was ready she got ready by showering using her favorite lavender oils. After her shower she went the closet and picked out a dress that she had bought in one of the towns they stopped at. It was a beautiful shade of lavender with white slippers to match. Once she was dressed she combed her hair and placed diamond drops on her ears. After she was all ready she headed over to Dre's room to see if he would like to join her for a Valentine's Day dinner. She didn't know whether he would be there or not but it was worth a shot. She stood outside of his door and knocked upon it.

(This is what the dress looks like except for it is lavender)

He had opened the door with a towel wrapped around himself, a he just got out of the shower himself. He looked at her and gave a low whistle of appreciation.

"Nice. Who is the lucky chap?"

he said with a grin on his face. This was one holiday that he did not celebrate much, so he had forgotten what day it was. He leaned on the door and looked at her.

She was a little shocked to see him answer in just a towel but she shouldn't have been since he wears a loin cloth but something about seeing him in a towel surprised her. A blush came to her cheeks as he whistled at her. A soft almost shy voice came from her as she spoke.

*I was hoping that you would be the lucky chap as you put it. I am here to invite you to dinner tonight with me and Sage if she shows up but if not then just me.*

She grinned as she waited for his answer and let her eyes roam over him.

He nodded.

"Let me get dressed and I will be right over. Thank you for the invite. I appreciate it. As you say, maybe Sage will show up."

He looked at himself and nodded.

"Give me ten minutes please dear.?"

She smiled brightly as he said yes he would come to dinner. It took everything she had not to jump up and down with excitement. Rose felt like a teenager going on her first date as she stood there. She spoke again as she tried to calm the butterflies in her belly.

*You're welcome and take all the time you need. I will be over in the room when you are ready.*

With her smile in tact she turned and walked back to her room. She closed the door behind her and started going around the room to make sure everything was in it's place.

He moved around the room getting dressed. He hated formal events, but that did not mean he did not have a few things to wear other then loincloths. Going into his closet he found the shirt and breeches he would wear. The breeches as black as his scales and the shirt was as red as his eyes.

He went around the room, doing a bit more freshening up before leaving his room and taking the couple of steps next door. he knocked on the door lightly and waited.

While Rose was getting ready for their special dinner with Dre, Sage changed into what she called, her valentines day gear. She wore a short, mini dress, and a chained collar with a heart shaped pad lock.

With that being done, she was now ready for Valentines day...and Dre.

Rose answered the door with a smile and her eyes went a bit wide as she looked him up and down. She could not help but notice that he was not wearing his usual loincloth. It was a surprise to see him in something other than that but she liked it. Holding open the door wider she motioned for him to come in.

*Welcome to our room.*

She could nt help but laugh at that given that he had been here before to talk and get to know them.

"Yes, welcome to our room."

Sage waved her hand, and a wave of magic filed the room with heart ballons, and roses. Then with a snap of her finger's Barry White could br heard playing in the background.

After that she walked up to Dre and gave him a kiss on the cheek.

"Happy Valentines Day Dre."

Stepping in he smiled.

"Thank you Rose."

He leaned down and gave her a kiss on the cheek.

He then heard Sage and his head came up. Was most definitely a good look for her as well. He saw the balloons and the heard the music and chuckled. He hugged her and returned the kiss on the cheek.

"Happy Valentine's Day to you both. You both look amazing."

Rose smiled as he kissed her cheek and then walked over to Sage and did the same. Closing the door she looked around the room to make sure everything was in its place including the touches her sister made around the room. After she was satisfied with everything she walked over to the counter she had set up for drinks and appetizers. She poured a mug of ale that she had seen Dre drink before and a glass of wine for her and Sage. She took the mug to Dre and a glass to Sage and then headed back to the counter for her glass and the plate of appetizers. Turning around with both she walked back to the pair and offered them some of stuffed mushrooms, fried cheese and a few other items that she wasn't sure exactly what they were but they looked good at the market (calamari and scallops and shrimp). She had plastered a smile on her lips trying her best to enjoy herself. This holiday was more her sister's area of expertise not hers but she was in good company this year so she was going to make the best of it.

*Thank you and Happy Valentine's Day to you too. How about we enjoy the drinks and these appetizers?*

She set the plate down on the table next to a few smaller plates so they could put the food on them if they wanted too. Rose took a sip of her wine trying to calm relax.

He watched rose move around, and sniffed at the air.Something smelled great. Maybe it was the women. He had to smile as he saw Rose pour him an ale. he had never gotten use to wine outside of his other form.

He took the ale and smiled again, "Thank you Rose. It looks great. Almost as good as you two."

He did try one of each of the appetizers and grinned. "Wow. These are good," he said.

He watched them both. No this as not his favorite holiday, but he would try and enjoy himself.

Rose smiled at his comments and blushed a little. By far Sage is more experienced with Valentine's Day and men in general than herself but she put up a good front when she needed. She ate a few of the items on the tray and sipped her wine.

*So is anyone else hungry? We can go ahead and eat if you both want.*

She set down her glass and wiped her hands on a napkin before going over and fiddling with the main course. They would both be able to tell she was not her cool calm collected self...she was nervous for some reason. Only she would know the reason why.

Watching rose, he hoped she was alright. He looked around, he himself was not use to these formal settings. He heard her mention about eating and nodded.

"Eating does sound good. What is on the menu milady? Do you need any help?"

He watched her with his red orbs and smiled at her. It was a geniue smile at that. It would also encompass Sage in that as well. he was glad he had friends such as these. Those that accepted him for him and did not want him changed.

He started to stand so he could help Rose with the cooking.

She tried her best to hide things that were going on with her and trying to make this enjoyable. She smiled as she headed over to the counter where the food was and started plating the salads and breadsticks. Already heading back over with the plates she set them down and spoke.

*I can serve us so sit down and relax a little.*

With that she went back over and grabbed a few types of dressing not sure what he liked. But she found one she loved.....cucumber ranch. After making sure everything was in its place for now on the table she sat down and waited to make sure they didn't need anything else. Drinks and silverware was already on the table so they should be good.

*I hope you enjoy. The next course is something special...it took me a while to find and I hope you like it. Honey mustard glazed ham, it sounded good at the market when the shop keeper told me about it.*

She did not mention that she tried a little piece at the market place.

He watched walk around and then came back to the table. He heard what she said and smiled.

"Are you sure Miss Rose? I do not mind"

But at the same time he knew not to argue with women. He had been raised and befriended enough of them. He looked at the salad and smiled, it was one thing his mother Sheena got him to love was a good salad. his father was the meat lover.

He saw the dressings and looked at them, he would ask the ladies which was their prefer. He was willing to try anything. But then a smell he had not smelled since his childhood.

Was that really a honey mustard glazed ham? "You found this at the market? Oh ladies you are in for a real treat. This is my favorite childhood food. Have not had it in forever."

He looked at them both and smiled. "Thank you both." It almost would seem a tear was in his eyes.

Rose smiled brightly when he spoke about the ham and it being his favorite childhood food. Her heart beat a little quicker knowing she picked something that he would enjoy fully. She sat there and looked at both of them to make sure no one needed anything. Rose sat there and ate her salad and sipped her wine. After they were about done with their salads Rose slipped out of her chair and went to start plating the ham, green beans and baked potato with cheese, bacon and sour cream on it. She took the ale and wine back to the table and filled their glasses. Rose left the bottles on the table as she went back to get the plates of food.

*You are very welcome Dre. I hope you enjoy this meal. I want this night to be special.*

She stood at the counter where the food was set out and took a deep breathe letting it out slowly trying to calm her nerves. Why was she nervous? Why does it matter? She had no clue what was going on with her right now. Rose continued to breathe deeply and letting out as she picked up the plates and plastered a smile on her lips as she turned around and walked the plates over to the table. Placing one in front of each of them she went back to the counter to get her plate and then back to the table setting the plate down and standing there while she spoke.

*Is there anything else that is needed before we enjoy this lovely meal?*

Sage went to help her sister. The dinner looked good, and after the last time they spent quality time with Dre, she was ready to skip dinner and head straight to dessert!

he watched the sisters with a smile. He knew there was more to them then met the eye, though he did not know what.

"Everything looks great rose, thank you."

With that he began to eat and looked at Sage. "Eat up, you might need your strength. Is no telling how these things will play out. "

He ate up and began to tell them a few stories of his childhood. Why? Because he could and it seemed the best thing to talk about.

Thank you.

That was the most she said as she sat there and ate her dinner and listened to his childhood stories. She enjoyed the stories and really anything he had to talk about with them.

He saw how rose seemed just to listen and trailed off.

"Sorry guess I was rambling. Maybe you two should tell me some more about yourselves."

He nodded as that made a great deal of sense to him.
