Day two of running errands in New Haven had Tasha feeling a little sluggish.  She had been spending so much time traveling from one destination to another lately, that she was starting to not get enough sleep.  So after leaving the dress shop, where she had been looking for something special, she headed to the park.  She was going to just sit on a bench and enjoy the lovely day.

She laid her head back as she sat upon the bench, and let the sun warm her face.  She hoped that she didn't fall asleep sitting there, but she closed her eyes to the sun nonetheless.  She heard some voices around her and paid them no mind.  That was until one of them made a sound of pain and cried out "Brain freeze!!"  This had Tasha's attention.  Was someone in need of medical attention?

She raised her head to observe what was going on with the two girls.  Emerald orbs seeing no notable ice upon the girls head, perhaps it was something happening internally.  She began to lean forward and her lips parted to speak when the other girl spoke to her friend.  "I told you not to drink that Frapp so fast."  Then the girl who was cringing righted herself and the pair continued to walk and giggle.

Tasha observed the pair as they walked past.  She was curious as to what a Frapp was, but didn't want to bother the two girls.  She did notice that the one was drinking from a clear plastic cup with a domed lid and a green straw.  The liquid inside looked vaguely similar to a milk shake.

She saw the emblem upon the cup and remembered having seen it the previous day.  It was on a building near where she had been running a few errands.  She figured she'd find it soon enough.  So she grabbed her bags and got up to head to the shop.

It took her a bit of time to walk to that part of town.  But she arrived none the worse for wear.  A feat considering she was in heels.  Her tight jeans covered her almost all the way to her waist and her blue bustier covered the only other important things to hide.  Not the most comfortable outfit for extra walking, but she felt it needed to be done.  And so she made her way through the door.

The scents that assaulted her nose were overwhelming.  There were coffees and teas, baked goods, various different beings, it was a lot to take in for a moment.  And as she assessed the area, she understood why.  Never before had she seen such a gathering of beings in such a small span of space.  Well, other than a bar, of course.  But this place had people drinking coffees and teas, not ales and wines

She moved to the end of the line and started scanning the menu on the wall behind the counter.  She noticed something called a Frappuccino.  Could this have been what the girls were talking about?  She continued to look at the menu board, not sure how to order something she would actually enjoy drinking.  She wasn't a fan of coffee and she wanted this Frapp thing.  But beyond that, she had no clue.  So she continued to read as she stood in line, moving as the line did.

One thing the friendly employees at this particular Starbucks were proud of, was their ability to serve the customers, keep them happy and have that line moving!  It wasn't a lolly gagging sort of thing, once they knew what the customer wanted people were right to work on getting it as soon as possible for them.   They wanted to crank out the customers, while keeping them happy, and staying friendly, all part of a days work.

It would appear that the lady was there during one of the more busier times, and she would notice that people seemed to be regulars, meaning those that were not always stood out.  It would seem they had a influx of new customers as of late.  So by the time the girl got up to the counter, the barrista that has been flirting with all the males, Jasmine was the name on her tag, smiled to the girl.

Hello!  Welcome to Starbucks!   What can I get for you today?”   She gave the words with a friendly undertone in her voice, there was a reason she kept her job, even if she sometimes got  herself into trouble.

People were milling around the tip cup was rather full, not a shock there, and orders were being called out by other employees.  Among the chattering that was happening inside the building if you listened you would hear.   “Jareth...”   Followed by a girl walking up grinning and getting her drink, because why wouldn't she use the Goblin King's name, which happened to get her a look from a guy in the establishment and they went off and started to chat about a little movie that the reference was from.

Well, this line was sure moving quickly.  Tash didn't have much time to peruse the menu board before she was at the front of the line.  She looked at the young lady and smiled.  "Um, ok.  Hi, thank you." For welcoming her to Starbucks of course.  "Jasmine.  I was at the park, and I saw these two girls, and they were drinking what looked like a chocolate milk shake from one of your cups."  Your as in the coffee house, not Jasmine herself.

She looked up at the menu board again.  "One of them called it a Frapp.  I see Frappuccino on the menu.  I'm hoping that's what it was.  And like I said, it looked chocolate.  I love chocolate.  So is it a mocha frappuccino?"  It had also looked like it had whipped cream on top, but Tasha wasn't willing to press her luck.  She was already feeling awkward for not knowing how to order a drink from a place that was obviously so often frequented by so many.

Oh it did, it moved rather well, they were a well-oiled machine type of a team!  And when she was there, Jasmine smiled to the girl, who seemed so unsure.  Was she a Starbucks virgin?  Oh wow, those were rather rare around here, this place was always hopping, and they all loved Titania when the others couldn't handle an issue they always called her and things well got handled.   She was smiling at the girl as she was thinking about what she wanted, and she was nodding almost encouragingly.   She wasn't pushing her to rush and that smile did not falter.

When the girl said that she wished for the mocha frappucino she would smile and nod her head in agreement.  "It is a very common choice, I am sure you will like it."  The smile didn't slip from her face as she was speaking.  "I just need to know what size you would like, your name, and if you wish to have whip cream or not."   Because some did and some did not and she was given the choice, normally those things were more...known but she was thinking that since the girl seemed to be rather unsure of things that she would need to give her a bit of help with things.

The others in the place were rather patient, but they had been in there quite a few times, so they were not making the girl feel bad for taking a bit more time.   So far at least so there was that right!

Tasha smiled at the nice girl.  A scratch to her temple had her looking at her phone.  "Um, yes on the whip cream, lots of chocolate, and I guess a ..."  She looked back at the menu board.  "Grande?"  That would give her a chance to see if she liked it and still get enough to properly experience it.

She glanced at the line behind her and started to feel bad for taking so long.  "And my name is Tasha."  She set her bags down long enough to get some coin from her pocket with which to pay.  All she needed was the total so she could do so.

Jasmine smiled to Tasha a good moment and her eyes were there on the girl, she wasn't rushing her not even a little bit.   And she was nodding to her as she spoke, and she was pushing it into the computer, and when she said that Jasmine smiled.  "Got it."

When Tasha looked behind her no one seemed upset they were a rather jovial crowd and for that she was lucky!   But she got the name, and she would give her a price, that wasn't too ridiculous I mean it was Starbucks, then she would give her change if needed after the exchange, and smiled.  "Someone will call your name shortly with your drink."

And once Tasha moved to the side where some others were waiting Jasmine would smile and start helping the others.

Tasha smiled at the girl and paid the asked for amount, and when she received her change, she just dropped it all in the tip jar, along with the other two gold pieces she had in her hand.  "Thank you Jasmine."  Her smile reached her eyes.

She moved to the other line and it barely took a few minutes before her name was called out.  She thanked the one who handed it to her and then went to go find a seat.  She figured she would just relax for a bit before she had to go pick Leviathan up from the groomers.  Who knows, maybe she'll see someone she knows, or meet someone new to chat with for a bit.

She found herself a nice, cushioned, chair to sit in.  It was very comfortable for a coffee house.  She had a nice view out the window and could relax and enjoy her coffee.  Remembering the girl in the park crying out that she had gotten brain freeze, and not wanting to meet the same fate, she sipped her drink.

That first taste hit her in a wave of flavors.  Emerald hued eyes went wide as she was surprised by the amazing flavors that were dancing across her tongue.  "Mmmmmm!!"  It was, indeed, that good.  And it was so smooth.  This was absolutely better than a hot cup of coffee.  And she knew she would be back for another every time she was in town.  But for now, she was going to enjoy this one and see what went on around this place.
